Assessment requirements

Relevance: As a nursing student, it is crucial to develop the skills necessary to review and critically analyse the existing literature on a chosen area of professional practice or a topic of interest within the field of nursing. This task requires you to conduct a literature review and demonstrate your ability to summarize and analyse the current body of knowledge related to your chosen area.

Task Instructions: Write a literature review proposal in short answer format using the following structure:

Part A (500 words)

Chosen area of professional practice or topic of interest:

Clearly state your chosen area of professional practice or topic of interest within the nursing field. This can be a specialised area of nursing, a particular healthcare setting, a specific patient population, or any other area that you find intriguing and relevant.

Reason for choosing the area of professional practice or topic of interest:

Explain the reason behind your choice of topic. Elaborate on the factors that influenced your decision, such as personal experiences, observations, or a passion for a particular aspect of nursing practice. Discuss how this area aligns with your professional goals, values, and aspirations.

Significance and Relevance:

Describe the significance and relevance of your chosen area of professional practice or topic of interest within the broader context of nursing. Explain how it addresses current healthcare challenges, contributes to patient care, or advances nursing knowledge and practice. Discuss any emerging trends or issues related to this area.

Proposed search strategy:

Describe the process you will follow to identify relevant literature sources. Explain the databases, keywords, and search criteria you used to retrieve the literature.

Structure: Short answer format.

Font: Calibri or Times New Roman size 11

Line spacing and alignment: 1.5 or double spacing with left-blocking for paragraphs. Indents are NOT required.
