CPCCBC4008 Supervise site communication and administration processes for building and construction projects
Assessment information |
Student Toolbox Additional information to support you in completing training and assessment for units of competency from the Construction, Plumbing and Services Training Package is provided in the Student Toolbox. If you haven’t read through the Toolbox lately, take a few moments to review it now. |
|
Assessment details This unit of competency specifies the skills and knowledge required to supervise site communications, monitor and maintain compliance with codes and standards and implement project administration processes on a building and construction project. It is strongly recommended that the site, as specified in the performance evidence, is ‘live’ (see Companion Volume for guidance). This unit of competency specifies the skills and knowledge required to supervise the administration of quality control compliance and the use of site communications and record keeping systems; and conduct onsite inspections to complete the required project administration processes. This unit applies to National Construction Code (NCC) classifications: Residential – Class 1 buildings to a maximum of two storeys Commercial – NCC Class 2 to 9, Type C only constructions. This unit of competency is suitable for builders, site managers, forepersons and other construction industry professionals using specialised knowledge and skills to complete routine and non-routine tasks and using their own judgement to deal with predictable and sometimes unpredictable problems. Completion of the general construction induction training program, specified in the model Code of Practice for Construction Work, is required by anyone carrying out construction work. Achievement of CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry meets this requirement. Assessment for this unit comprises completion of a site diary incorporating: knowledge questions reflective journals. A Site Diary Template is provided in this Workbook. You should read through the template before you get started and ensure that you are clear on what you need to do. Speak to your trainer, assessor or workplace supervisor if you have any questions. |
|
Co-assessment In some cases, this unit will be assessed alongside other units from the Construction, Plumbing and Services Training Package. Your assessor will advise you if co-assessment is right for you and will talk to you about how this will take place. Keep in mind that, regardless of how and when assessment takes place, the skills and knowledge you are required to demonstrate for this unit don’t change. |
|
Am i ready? Use this section to check that you are ready to proceed with assessment. You should also use it to record important dates. Prerequisites There are no prerequisites for this unit. Completion of the general construction induction training program specified by the model Code of Practice for Construction Work is required for any person who is to carry out construction work. Achievement of CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry meets this requirement. |

Site Diary ____________________________________________________ |

Task requirements For this unit, you will demonstrate the skills and knowledge you have developed during your training by supervising the site communication and administration processes for a building and construction project. Site Diary You have been provided with a Site Diary template in this Workbook. You will need to fill it out based on your experiences with your construction project. This may be a construction project that you will be undertaking in your RTO’s simulated construction work environment or a project that you are undertaking in a live construction environment (ie a real construction work site). Note: if you are completing this task in a simulated construction environment your assessor will provide you with access to the technology, documents, plans and specs, policies and procedures and other resources you will need to complete your work. If you are in a real construction environment it is expected that you will have access to the full range of documentation, equipment and human resources required. In this task, you will demonstrate your skills and knowledge by doing the following for your construction project: setting up the quality control requirements for the project supervising the project administration supervising the project communications overseeing record keeping for the project project monitoring project finalisation. By reflecting on what you did for each of these tasks and gathering evidence of your work, you will satisfy the assessment requirements for this unit. Your Site Diary is broken into a number of sections, which are mapped against the skills and knowledge that you need to demonstrate. Each section of the Site Diary includes: a list of the skills and knowledge that you need to demonstrate a reflective journal with some questions for you to answer reminders to attach evidence with some suggestions for suitable examples provided in each case (the diary also includes some mandatory evidence that you will need to submit) Each section of your Site Diary also includes a set of knowledge questions that you will need to answer. Make sure you answer these clearly and in as much detail as you can. You must correctly complete all parts of the Site Diary and submit sufficient evidence to be marked as satisfactory for this task. Talk to your assessor immediately if you have any concerns about evidence gathering. A mapping of the unit requirements against your Site Diary has been provided below for reference. |
